I attended the University of Minnesota for both my undergraduate and medical education. Having gone through med school on an armed forces health scholarship, I spent twenty-three years in the Navy, most of them as a head and neck surgeon, retiring in 2010. My wife Annette and I then moved to Myrtle Beach, SC, where I am in private practice. We have two daughters, Lauren, who is a UW Madison grad, lives and works in Minneapolis, and Julia, who graduated from East Carolina University in North Carolina, is in graduate school in Virginia. My dad and two of my sisters still live in the Twin Cities, so we make it back several times per year...looking forward to our 40th!
